Midwinter has come and it’s time to exhale the old and inhale the new. At midday of 28th December, 2017, at the Lecture Hall, Anqing Foreign Language School convened the regular meeting of the Senior High Department. Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong attended the meeting which was chaired by Director Xu Haihong with the Senior High Section. The meeting consisted of three sessions.
In the first place, Senior High Director Cao Siqing introduced relevant issues in regard to the inspection examination in grade 12 and the third monthly exam in the 10th& 11th grades. The former one took place from 29th to 30th December while the latter one on 2nd and 3rd January, 2018. Director Cao Siqing mentioned that considering the marking work was on line, each teacher was supposed to complete the paper inspection on schedule. More remarkably, all teachers from the 10th grade would correct test papers in Grade 12. All teachers from Grade 11 would mark exam papers from the 10th grade and all teachers with the 12th grade were responsible for correcting papers in Grade 11. Afterwards, each group leader of the teaching& research group should hand in the examination paper analysis to Director Cao Siqing in electronic manuscript before 10th January. Also, each teacher was required to send this semester’s teaching work summary to the head of the teaching& research group before 20th January who would register and send the whole package to Director Cao Siqing.
In the second place, teacher Jiang Zhengying talked freely about his profound perceptions when he went to study in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province last week. He shared with teachers from the Senior High Division the educational thoughts of famous educator Li Zhenxi. Jiang Zhengying expressed that as a teacher, happiness came before excellence. The standard of an excellent teacher lay in the fact that he was supposed to teach well, lead the class well and let students score well. In addition, an outstanding teacher should transform underachievers, believe them and enlighten their upward mobility. On the other hand, top teachers should speak and write fairly well besides all that was mentioned above. Jiang Zhengying said that expert Li Zhenxi’s viewpoint ‘Self Cultivation’ benefited him a lot, which meant that teachers should practise, think, read and write unceasingly. What’s more, as a head teacher, Jiang Zhengying shared some of his inspirations and attempts.
In the third place, Director Xu Haihong conducted the recent job arrangements in the Senior High Section. The final examination would be held from 29th January to 2nd February. On 2nd February, Anqing Foreign Language School would convene the Gathering Will, which meant that teachers from the Senior High Department were requested to meticulously prepare two programs. Anqing Foreign Language School would hold next semester’s working conference on the ninth day of the first month of the lunar new year. Students would start registering on the afternoon of the following day. The next term officially began on 26th February, 2018. Furthermore, Director Xu Haihong emphasized related issues such as the roadwork on New Year’s Day, the selection of 10 people who moved Anqing Foreign Language School in 2017 as well as the work of head teachers and teachers from Grade 12.
Overall, this regular meeting in the Senior High Division was pragmatic, efficient and rich in content. Time zips by and God help those who help themselves. The bell in 2018 will go off leisurely. The fresh new year has already come towards us light-footedly. We shall not only melt the chillness in severe winter with compassion and enthusiasm, but also light new hopes and expectations in our heart with intelligence and innovation. We firmly believe that we shall strive for further improvement in 2018 and let felicity illuminate Anqing Foreign Language School!
